Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the respiratory system that can affect individuals of all ages. Characterized by airway inflammation and smooth muscle constriction, asthma leads to breathing difficulties due to the narrowing of bronchial passages. Common symptoms include persistent dry cough (especially at night), dyspnea, chest tightness or pain, and the audible wheezing sound resulting from restricted airflow.
To help with your preclinical studies, we have developed and validated several induced models of asthma in mice. They include an ovalbumin (OVA) induced asthma model as well as a house dust mite (HDM) induced asthma model.
